Why Facial Fillers and Neuromodulators
Why Facial Fillers and Neuromodulators?
This is why…
Who wants to look old, with sagging skin and deep creases? Unfortunately with time we lose elasticity of skin and also volume. That’s right , fat to the face is lost as we age. That cute full facial appearance that you had in your early twenties and thirties disappears. Review of photos from younger days will confirm that full and rounded facial appearance.
What can be done to give us back some of the fullness that we had 5 or 10 years ago? Well, facial fillers are the answer to replacement of lost volume. Facial fillers are different from the neuromodulators that help treat lines and creases which are present with animation of face. I will come back to this later.
Facial Fillers are injected into the deep creases of the face to add volume that lifts and smooth the deep lines. There are even fillers now that can be used for more superficial lines. It is important to first have an evaluation and discussion to decide which type of filler would benefit you the most. In our office we fit the filler to the area of concern and to the patient. That brings me to the next important point. Who should do your filler placement?
My answer to this question is more “old school” as I prefer a professional physician trained in facial rejuvenation. Some would say others with different qualifications or less experience could complete the procedure but when it comes to facial rejuvenation, leave it to the professionals.
In regards to neuromodulators; Neuro what? This is a substance that is injected into the facial muscles to paralyze and prevent creases from appearing with animation of your face. The name you may be more familiar with is Botox. The two types of neuromodulators we offer are Botox and Xeomin. With the addition of a filler and neuromodulator one can improve facial appearance with out having a surgical procedure.
While it is no fun getting old, with fillers and neuromodulators it can be more palatable!
