Chemical Peels

Glytone rejuvenating peels contain the highest level of “free” glycolic acid for optimal skin rejuvenation. Available in three forms ranging in various strengths from 30% – 70%. Glycolic acid itself is a form of alpha-hydroxy acid and is naturally found in sugarcane, pineapple, grapes and other fruits. Glytone also offers TCA peels which range in strength from 25%- 40%. These peels are stronger and more effectice then the glycolic acid but usually require  more recovery time.

While these peels are generally considered mild, they can be more acidic and therefore stronger. Another variable which can decrease their strength is whether they are neutralized or not. These peels tend to be very effective for acne breakouts as well as facial rejuvination for the improvement of fine lines and wrinkles and sun damaged skin. The advanatage of glycolic peels and TCA peels is less recovery time as compared to the more aggressive laser resurfacing. Chemical peels can produse similiar predicatbale results to laser resurfacing if done correctly. Ask Dr Clemenza if you area a canidate for a chemical peel.

Chemical peels can be a perfect option for patients who do not want to have the commitment of creams and continuous peeling of the skin. Dr Clemenza will evaluate your skin and will then review options for the best treament for you.
